Anatoly Metlan

Anatoly Metlan was born in 1964 in Yalta, Ukraine, a city on the northern coast of the Black Sea. Raised by parents who dabbled in art, Metlan's interest in painting developed early on. He pursued formal education in the arts, graduating from a local high school of arts in 1985, and later studying at Krivoi Rog University in Ukraine.
Metlan began exhibiting his work during college and quickly gained recognition, joining the Artists Guild of Ukraine in 1989. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Metlan and his family immigrated to Israel, where they continue to live.
The artist enjoys traveling to Italy and France, capturing the vibrant light, warmth, and color of the seascapes and coastal villages.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including in France, Israel, and the United States, and is collected by art enthusiasts around the world. In recent years, Metlan has focused on depicting women, flamenco dancers, and gypsies, infusing his paintings with movement, passion, and feminine energy.
